Hailey & Mackenzie's Birthday...

Today we went to Hailey and Mackenzie's second Birthday party at Gymboree.
There were lots of kids there, and they all really had a great time. There were lots of different activities they did and lots to play with. Parachutes to run under, big barrel with balls to jump in, they pretended to be on a rocket ship, sang songs, and Matthew's favorite, the bubbles. My best friend Melody made "Sesame Street" themed cupcakes. The girls love Abby Cadabby!
How awesome did those cupcakes come out?!?!
Mel, you're hired for Kaylee's first birthday party!!! Hehe!
I think Mommy was having more fun, Lol:)

Even Kaylee had fun. She loved crawling all over the mats and into the tubes.

Matthew loved climbing on all the different things.
When we were driving home, he wanted to know when we were going back!

We also want to wish our niece Tara a VERY Happy Ninth Birthday today.
Hope you have a really great day!

Crazy Stuff...

After weeks of trying to decide if I really wanted to do this, I decided to take a chance and sell some Avon. My sister in law,Lisa has been selling it for about a year now.
One day we got to talking about how its great for extra money, and with these tough times, we all could surely use some of that!
She also convinced me that I would be good at it ...we'll see, I hope I don't let her down!
So we sat down this past weekend and she signed me up to be a sales rep.
And I've gone into it full speed ahead!
I've put all kinds of e-mails out, I've posted my online site for everyone to go into, here on my blog and on my facebook page, so hopefully that will get some potential clients.
Now all I have to do is pray for some warmer weather, so I can have an excuse to start up walking again and get some brochures out there in the neighbor's mailboxes, and hey I might even lose some weight in the whole process...lol:)
***
I did have my first sale today!
Thank you to Amanda for placing an order. You're the best!!!
***
Anyone who is interested in buying anything or has any questions about the Avon products, please contact me anytime through my e-mail or call me!
And if you know anyone who might be interested in buying Avon, let them know about my online shop.
I would so appreciate all the help I can get in generating some more clientele!
Wish me luck in my latest "career."

Sick Again...

I just realized I haven't written a post in a while.
Not much new going on here in the Ostroski house.
Once again, Matthew has been sick with a fever the past two days...Ugh!!!
I really can't wait for this winter to be over, so I can open up all of the windows and air out this place.
My poor baby, he's been lounging around a lot today, and decided to give in to a nap on his little pullout chair.
Rest is the best medicine!!!
Kaylee seems to be ok so far...knock on wood.
Today she had a cheese sandwich for lunch, which
I broke up into small pieces for her to try and feed herself.
She really did a great job.
My baby girl is just growing way too fast!!!
*******
One more note, We want to wish our niece Kirstin a very Happy Birthday today!
Enjoy your day!!!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Be Healthy!!!

Beautiful Day

Today was such a beautiful day!
We finally had some warm weather, temps near sixty degrees!
Matthew and I took advantage and went out in the backyard for some fun, while Kaylee was in for her nap!
Matthew played on the swing set for a while. He had so much fun going down the slide. What a difference a year makes. Last year he was afraid of the slide.
He also had fun in the sandbox!
I wish this weather would finally stick around for good. I'm so done with the cold of winter.
But unfortunately we're going to get cold again!!!
At least we got to enjoy one nice warm day.
I'll just keep thinking SPRING! It will be here soon!

10 Months Old!

Kaylee is ten months old today!!!! This has been quite a month of milestones for her!
She has finally started crawling after what seemed like weeks of lunging, rolling, and much frustration to get from point-a to point-b with little success.
What a difference being mobile has made in her personality.
She is sooooo much happier now!!!
She's only been crawling for about three weeks, but she's figured out how to speed crawl everywhere and boy is she loving her independence. I've had to baby proof and put back up all of the safety gates around the house. Her favorite thing to go after...Tigger and Kasey's cat food bowls...Ugh!!!!
She's really interacting with all of her toys really well too.
She loves playing with the animals and her spin around zoo. It's so cute to watch her push the red button for the music and then when it starts turning, she pulls all of the animals off and chews on them...lol:)
As you can see in the above picture, she is also trying to stand now too.
She's mastered pulling herself up in her crib and pack n' play.
It's only a matter of time before she figures out how to pull up and cruise the furniture.
I can't believe how quickly our baby girl is growing before our eyes!

Puppy Tales

It's been a week since my last post. I just don't seem to find enough time in the day to do everything I want like keeping up with the blog.
Last night Matthew went to his library class. It was puppy night.
We heard some stories about puppy dogs, sang doggy songs, and made a cute puppy puppet craft! How cute is Matthew's puppy?!!?

Last weeks class was about kitty cats!
With all of the craziness this past week I didn't get the chance to post about it.
Matthew went with Daddy to last week's class, and they had a lot of fun together.
Matthew was so proud of his cat craft that he made with Daddy!

Nostalgic!!!

Hope everyone had a really nice weekend!
We had a quiet one. Didn't do much on Saturday and we went to Jeff and Lisa's yesterday for dinner and let the kids play, while the boys watched football...yuck so glad the season is over!!!
Can't wait for baseball season to get under way!
Let's go Mets!!!
Hopefully they won't choke again this year!!!

I took this picture of Kaylee yesterday.
She is wearing an old sweater and hat that was mine when I was a baby. I had to get this picture so I could keep it with the one that I took of Matthew in Jason's old sweater and hat that my mother in law gave us when Matthew was born. That is Matthew in the green sweater when he was only one month old.
It's so nice to have something handed down to us from when we were both babies.
Hopefully Kaylee and Matthew will want to have them for their children too.

Photo Tag

I've been tagged by Amanda with this photo challenge and how could I refuse?
I've been instructed to post the sixth photo from the sixth folder in my archives...so here it is!
I actually had to go to my seventh folder since I only had five pictures in my sixth, you can say I cheated a bit haha! This is a picture of Matthew on Dec. 17th, 2005.
He was only one week old.
I can't believe how tiny he looks here, even though we all know he wasn't a tiny baby.
Isn't he just the cutest? I'm not a gloating mom...lol!
It was so much fun to look back at old photos, thanks for the tag Amanda!

Ok now I have to tag people I know with blogs which isn't too many, so I will tag:
Melody & John Z. and Tabitha!

Kaylee in Motion!

We finally got some cute video of Kaylee crawling. She really figured the whole thing out really quickly. Matthew loves crawling around with her. I think that's making her move that much faster, she has to keep up with her Big Brother.

Today is such a gloomy day. We have seen a little bit of everything here. We got about three inches of snow over night. But the temperatures have warmed up enough that it changed over to rain this morning. What a mess! And that should make for a great combination tonight when the temps drop again...Nice and icy, Yay!!!

Stay warm and safe today!!!

Busy Day!

We had quite the busy day today!
Jason took the day off so we could all go and check out a potential preschool for Matthew. How surreal that was. We can't believe he's going to preschool already. It still feels like yesterday he was just this little baby, now he's going to school...Ugh that makes me sad!!!
Anyway, I think we found his school for September. It's called St. John's preschool, right here in Holbrook. Matthew really liked the playground they have outside. We saw some classes in progress too. We got to meet the teachers and they really made us feel welcome.
Matthew seems pretty excited about the whole thing. We'll just have to keep that way of thinking going until September.
*****
Matthew also started another library class today.
This one is called "Tales for Threes."
It's a four week class, and each week the instructor is reading stories about animals, and at the end the kids get to make a craft.
This week was about bunnies. She read "Guess How Much I Love You?" and two other bunny stories. Then the kids made bunny ears and sang some songs, before we went home.

Matthew couldn't wait to come home and show Daddy his bunny ears that he made.
He insisted on wearing them home, instead of his nice warm winter hat...too cute!!!
I think next week the theme is kitty cats.
Matthew will surely enjoy that since we have two cats!

Eighty Years Young!

We want to wish "Great" Pop-Pop a very Happy 80th Birthday today! We hope you have a really great day.
We wish we could have been there to celebrate with you.
Enjoy the day with mom, dad, Uncle Steve, Anita, Chris, and Mema.
We're so glad they could all be there with you.
We miss you all and can't wait to see you in April again.

And She's Off...

It's official, Kaylee is crawling!!!
It took some time of lunging and rolling, but she finally figured it out.
Now I'm really going to get nothing done...hehe!

It's so cute to watch her crawling. She's going really slow right now, but she has figured out real quick that this is a great thing.
As most of you know, Kaylee is a REAL Momma's girl, so she has quickly figured out she can follow me pretty much wherever I go. Ugh!!! It was nice to leave her alone in the next room for a few minutes to play, while I did the dishes or cleaned up. Although maybe I'll be able to use this to my advantage, and have her help me...Lol:)

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

This has been a busy month for birthdays in our family.
Today we want to wish my Dad a very Happy Birthday!
I know he's going to kill me for mentioning his age, but he is 62 years old today, and looking and doing great.
Have a wonderful Birthday Dad, or as Matthew calls him "Pa."
We love you!!!!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my grandparents anniversary.
We want to wish them a very Happy day.
We hope you are doing something very special to celebrate. It's soooo wonderful to be able to say I have two grandparents still living.
What's even more special is that my children have "Great" grandparents.
It stinks that they live in Florida.
They don't get to enjoy Matthew and Kaylee as much as they would like. But they sure do spoil them, when they do see them.
We just make sure to keep sending pictures and updates often, so they see what's going on with us.
We miss you guys and will see you again in April!

At Last...

I'm happy to report that Kaylee has finally popped two more teeth on top...Yay!!!
It feels like we've been waiting for those two to come through forever. Only sixteen more to go hehe!
The weather here has improved slightly today.
It looks like a really beautiful day outside. The sun is shining brightly, but it is absolutely freezing out. We're not supposed to get out of the teens today...yikes! And its really not going to get much warmer over the weekend.
Looks like we'll have to find some fun stuff to do indoors.
***
Also, we want to wish John Z. a very Happy Birthday!
Hope you have a fun day!

Hope everyone has a very nice weekend.
Stay warm!!!

And Snow It Go's...

We are getting another round of snow here today and some really cold temperatures...18 degrees. Brrr!!! We've ended up with about three to four inches of fluffy snow with this storm.
Matthew was disappointed, he wanted to make another snowman, but he made the best of it in other ways.

He was such a good little helper shoveling the walkway and the driveway!

We even managed to get some playtime in while Kaylee was taking her nap.
We threw snow at each other, which Matthew loved. And we sled around a bit,
before coming in to some nice hot chocolate.
Despite the cold, we had fun!!!

Happy Nine Months!!!

I feel so bad, I usually get things done on time, but not this past weekend.
We were sick, so I didn't get the chance to update anything.
Kaylee was nine months old on Saturday.
And what a way to turn nine months...with 101 fever and a runny nose,
as you can see in the picture below.
Poor baby!
So let's see, in the past month she has mastered sitting by herself really well now.
She still LOVES our cat Tigger as you can see in the next picture.
Her word of the month is "dada."
And she's not quite yet crawling, but she gets on all fours, rocks herself a few times, and than lunges forward to get where she wants to go, she's very determined!

She' s really starting to interact with her toys now too.
As you can see, she has found her cute little purse, and is ready to go shopping...lol:)

Thanks dad for the money and the keys to the car! Hehe!!!

Hope everyone is well!!!!

Well on our way!

Like father like son!
Matthew decided when he was going to go pee pee on the potty, he was going to bring a book to read, just like daddy brings the newspaper.
Boy, do kids really watch what their parents do...sorry honey! lol:P
As of the new year, we are making Matthew really focus on potty training, and he's doing sooooo great! Except for a few accidents in the pull-up, he's being staying really dry.
Good job baby!
Next...on to the real "big boy" underpants. Wish us luck!!!
